Praise for Sir John Hunt Tea PartyThe school dining hall was transformed into a beautiful setting to host our fi rst ever Senior Citizens Tea Party. Over eighty local residents joined us for afternoon tea to celebrate the end of last term and our sixty year anniversary. The event was supported by The Royal Navy who not only provided the catering but were on hand with their team of stewards to deliver first class silver service. A wide variety of food was provided including sweet and savoury treats like traditional victoria sponge, pastries, freshly prepared sandwiches and scones.
Guests were greeted with a glass of Pimms served in a champagne flute decorated with butterflies and the team of Year 9 students and staff who helped to organise the entire event. The attention to detail was exceptional with detail such as favours, welcome cards, flower filled jam jars all decorated by hand and glass gems to finish off the tables. Sixth Form students created the atmosphere with a selection of music and live performance.
Already plans are coming together for the annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party and due to popular demand the Tea Party will be back again next year!
