Outdoor and Adventurous ActivitiesA wet and windy Bikeability continued this week for both PE lessons and Intervention. Once everyone got going out on the roads, the concentration levels were high, so no-one ever complained about the cold. Level 3 students have been learning how to negotiate two lanes of traffic and the large roundabout on Tamerton Foliot road. It is impressive how they become more used to it and less nervous over just a double lesson. Well done to them.
A big thank you to all those signing up to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We have 19 new students for the bronze award and a few who wish to move up from bronze to silver and from silver to gold. They have been registering their activities at lunchtimes in room S109 and they range from cricket, to Photography Club with Mr Lavis, to pet care at home. Many students are choosing to enrol in Bike Maintenance (every Wednesday evening) for their volunteering, or are keen to help develop the Science Garden. Please feel free to take a letter from student services and start your DofE adventure anytime by meeting Mr Alcock or Miss Symons in room S109 every Thursday lunchtime.
