Outdoor and Adventurous Activities

The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award has been launched to Year 9. A well attended parents evening last Wednesday saw many students handing in their letters and registration fees. If anyone still wants to join please get a letter from student services and return it with the £20 fee.

This Winter’s climbing club has started again, with students coming along to the Life Centre wall every Thursday after school. Chloe warmed up on some easier lines then attacked some really hard routes, managing 6a+ with ease then fighting her way up a 6b! Alfie and Jordan worked well as a team for their beginning indoor climbing lesson. If anyone wants to come every Thursday please get a letter from student services and bring along £5 each time.

The new intervention group had a successful first day in the woods, plucking up the courage to do a zip line and a tree climb. They worked well together keeping each other safe before the moment where they zoomed off down the rope!

Bikeability Level 2 and 3 is continuing with only a few lessons postponed because of the horrible weather. Special mention must go to Chelsea, Tilly and Bethany who attempted to bike in a huge downpour, but it became too wet to do anything! So far everyone who has attended Level 3 has passed, so well done to them.
