Sixth Form Open Evening Success

Sixth Form Open Evening

On Monday the 16th November, Year 11 students began the process of choosing their Sixth Form pathways and options at our Sixth Form Open Evening. The event was a huge success and we have had a very high level of interest and applications already.

The evening was an opportunity for students to consider what they would like to study after their GCSEs next summer. On the night, vocational training providers from across the city joined us to show the range of courses we offer and the requirements to join these courses. Alongside these training providers, our A Level and BTEC staff were available to discuss academic options that are open to our students. Partners attended from the Partnership for Learning and Education (PLE) representing our partner schools; Tor Bridge High, Lipson Cooperative Academy and All Saints Academy. The evening was also a chance for students to meet with our Plymouth Argyle partners who will be offering a triple BTEC sport qualification again next year under the FUTSAL programme, which has been a great success in its first year.

Students have been encouraged to return their initial options forms to tutors or the Sixth Form team by this Friday so the process of interviews can begin in the first weeks of the new year.

If any students were unable to attend the Sixth Form Open Evening, there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss options with the Sixth Form team and we will make sure you have a copy of our prospectus and options forms.

If you would like to discuss anything regarding the Sixth Form, please feel free to call the administration office on 01752 581604.
